The development in power plant technology is dependent increasingly from technological innovations in alloys and materials. Strength and corrosion resistance answering the rising demands of high-duty applications are crucial challenges to be met by the development of alloy and material concepts which should also allow to reduce production and testing inputs. Alloys, coatings and linings, composites and ceramics are valuable material options to produce ultra-high-strength components for electricity generation.
