In the near future the number of radar sensors in cars is expected to significantly increase and finally even to double within 5 to 8 years. Autonomous driving will further boost this number and require new ideas for radar system concepts. The workshop chair discusses actual and especially future radar systems in the context of autonomous driving and invites attendees to actively participate.

Radar Technology offers important additional benefit to drivers

Automotive radars can increase the security of drivers, which is absolutely fundamental in terms of autonomous driving. Besides, future radars will render more information, be more flexible and will also be smaller, cheaper and more reliable. This workshop supplements our international VDI conference “Automated Driving” with the topic of radar technologies and enables deep learning as well as active information exchange between participants.
