Basic knowledge on odor and emission in the vehicle interior

The VDI Basic Knowledge "Odor and Emissions in Vehicle Interiors" Workshop will provide basic knowledge in the areas of smell and emission sources in vehicle interiors. Amongst others, you will learn about which human sensory and analytical methods you can measure and evaluate emissions. Furthermore, you will find out about the benefits and disadvantages of these different methods. This practically oriented workshop will also give you the opportunity to present specific cases from your own company and to discuss these with presenters or within the group.
Requirements, norms and technical standards
Emissions and smells in vehicle interiors are of central importance to OEMs and suppliers. That’s why the parts fitted and their ancillaries are increasingly subject to critical requirements in terms of their emissions properties. But how can smells and emissions be unambiguously measured and evaluated? How do European customer expectations differ from those in Asia? Which materials are suitable to fulfill international norms and technical standards?
At the VDI "Odor and Emissions in Vehicle Interiors" Workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to have in-depth discussions about these themes and more with experienced industry experts. On the basis of specific application examples, you’ll also learn about the challenges and opportunities presented by various measurement methods for emissions and smells. These practical examples are primarily from the automotive area, but can also be applied to associated areas and systems as well.
This workshop takes place one day before the VDI "PIAE 2021 – International Specialist Congress for Plastics in Automotive Engineering". If you book this workshop together with the world’s largest congress for plastics in vehicles, you can profit from a substantially reduced combination price.
