International Conference on Gears 2019 - Extended Deadline
The 8th International Conference on Gears 2019 will be held in Garching, Germany, at the Technical University of Munich’s Gear Research Centre (FZG) from September 18th to 20th, 2019. The conference brings together over 600 leading experts from the international gear and transmission industry and is supported by national and international associations. Presenting a paper gives you the opportunity to take part in this leading international forum and learn about the latest developments and research results in the powertrain industry and academia.
Call for papers is open - We’re looking for experts.
Submit your entry by the 30. November 2018.
Don't miss the last chance for the registration of your proposal:
We would like to invite and encourage you to submit an abstract and contribute to the discussion about improvements in the field of gears and transmissions, how gears can contribute to increasing energy efficiency, reducing resource consumption and how new technologies will be incorporated in the powertrain.
Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to meet equipment manufacturers, producers and researchers in the areas of gear and transmission systems and present your new solutions, latest research results and technical ideas.
Examples of topics covered:
- Design, analysis and simulation of gears and transmissions
- Industrial applications, such as transmissions for energy systems or for mobility systems, etc.
- Testing, such as new test methods and/or procedures for lifetime, efficiency and noise behavior
- Materials, lubricants and tribology
- Manufacturing, such as productivity increases with new concepts for machine and manufacturing processes, machine running times or throughput times – balancing of productivity and flexibility
- Gear Manufacturing in the context of digitalization and industry 4.0
- The possibilities and potential for plastic gears
For a full list of conference topics, please download the call for papers.
Be part of the most important international conference in the field of gears and transmissions in 2019 and meet your colleagues, peers and experts to share ideas and learn together.
Take the last opportunity now. Submit your abstract and note the extended deadline for abstract submission is November 30th, 2018.

The program committee will decide which papers are accepted and the order of presentation in the conference program on the basis of the abstract. All accepted authors are required to submit a full paper to be published in the conference proceedings, which have an official ISBN number. If accepted authors would like their full paper to be peer reviewed, this must be indicated in the abstract. The paper will be reviewed and – if accepted – published in the magazine “Forschung im Ingenieurwesen”. This journal is currently listed in Scopus and Web of Science, with a recognized impact factor of 0.667 (Journal Citation Reports®, Thomas Reuters 2017).
We are currently preparing the final program for you. You will soon be able to download it here.
Accompanying conferences focus on high-performance plastic gears and gear production
In addition to the International Conference on Gears 2019, further accompanying conferences offer detailed insight into all aspects of
Experts in the fields of gear manufacturing or plastic gears are invited to contribute a proposal to the International Conference on Gears 2019 call for papers.
Entrance to the accompanying conferences is free for registered participants of the International Conference on Gears 2019.
Two social events offer excellent networking opportunities
The conference offers many opportunities to meet up with colleagues - old and new - during the breaks. A social evening in the main hall of the university will be held on the second conference day. Furthermore, we warmly invite you to a special, surprise external evening event. Attendance at the social events is included in the conference fee.
